My name is Ramesh Patel, and I am a third-generation farmer from the fertile plains of Kheda, Gujarat. My grandfather taught my father, and my father taught me — that the land is our mother, and we must never poison her.
When chemical farming became popular in the 1990s, I watched neighbours rush to adopt fertilizers and pesticides for higher short-term yields. But I chose a different path. I stayed true to the organic methods passed down through generations — and over 15 years later, I have never once regretted that decision.
Today, my farm spans 12 acres of organically certified land, where I grow 8 varieties of crops — from golden wheat to juicy Alphonso mangoes — all without a single drop of chemical fertilizer or synthetic pesticide.
